After a week spent unpacking we were ready for a little break and a mini getaway to Tacoma.
My brother lives there with his family and we were so excited to move closer to him. Just a little over 4 hours away! Well our excitement was short lived because they are being stationed back in Korea for at least another 3 years. Seriously it sucks. I adore my big brother and those girls of his. He gave me my first niece and really has been such a huge support to me and always there when I need him most.
He is my hero. Since we were so close to him my Mom wanted to make sure and see him before he left for Korea as well so we made a weekend out of it and ended up finding a cheaper flight to send her home from Seattle rather than Pasco so it worked out in more ways than one.
We got there Friday night and they were all up waiting to see Tracker.
Of course Tracker immediately went to his most favorite person ever, his cousin Yuna.
Since it was late we didn't hang out to long before heading to bed.
The next day we spent it soaking up as much quality time as possible. Chatting, eating, playing outside, watching Harley run, watching Ryan and Ben build dangerous items,
We went on a little hike near their house. We have been there before and love it. Its such a pretty area. Its so funny to think we live in the same state now but our views are nothing like his views. We live in the dessert. Its nothing like this lush green. but how cool is it that this is just a couple hours away.
After one awesome hike we go on another, but this one was right in Ben's back yard. They do this walk all the time. Ryan and I were very envious of such an amazing outdoor space. We have tried to think of anyway we can move into their place while they are in Korea and commute the 4 hours back to the tri-cities for Ryan to work. Guess it wasn't really possible.
That night we spent it sitting in front of the fire. Ben just about took over Tracker the entire weekend. Every time I was holding him, feeding him or just tending to his whines he would run up and snatch him from me. He would snuggle him, feed him and not let anyone else touch him. It pretty much melted my heart every time. Tracker was so in love with him and wouldn't stop giving him loves.
It was such a fun little getaway. Lucky for us we would see them again in just a couple weeks but my Mom had a hard time saying goodbye. Not only to her son but to us as well.
She was probably the hardest goodbye. I am so close to her and rely on her so much. It was heartbreaking knowing she wouldn't be a phone call away. That it would be months before we saw her again and that made me a big ol emotional mess.
After we saw her off we headed back home. Not before stopping for some Top Pot donuts we have heard so much about. It definitely didn't disappoint and they were delicious. Both Ryan and I having to say goodbye to our Mums that week was definitely deserving of some extra treats.
The drive home wasn't bad. This little stinker wouldn't sleep at all.
He was so good considering he was strapped in his car seat for hours but it was a bit challenging keeping him entertained the entire time.
